Information
on Conventions competitions:
Stage Senior (10 to 12 minutes)
Stage Junior (8 to 10 minutes)
Close Up Senior 6 to 8 minutes)
Close Up Junior (4 to 6 minutes
Children's Entertainer (8 to 10 minutes)
Note:
the first time is the minimum; the second is the maximum
for the specified competition.
Junior Category applies to those registrants 17 and under
as on 19/10/2012
Special Awards
The following may be awarded by the judges at the conclusion
of the formal competitions:
Best
Manipulation
Best Illusion
Best Mental Effect
Funniest Routine
Best Comedy Performance
Best Assistant
Best Effect of the Convention
Conditions
of Entry:
To promote a higher standard of performance in line with
those achieved at major international conventions, the selection
of all entries to the competitions will be based on the
quality of presentation and content.
A
DVD, a YouTube video clip or a video clip of the presentation
that can be viewed on computer must be supplied with an
application for entry.

Entries
must be received by 31st July 2012
* Applicants will be notified by 31 August 2012 as to whether
they have qualified as a entrant to any or all of the competitions
applied for
* You must be registered for the convention for entry into
any competition to be accepted
* The judge's decision will be final and no communication
will be entered into
* Balloting as to the order of competitors will be done
prior to each performance
* First prize or any prizes associated with the competition
may not be awarded if the judges decide the performances
do not qualify for that prize
* Sub-category awards may be given at the discretion of
the judges
* Please note a trick or routine may be used only once within
all competition categories
Judging Criteria:
Technique/Skill: 20 points
Entertainment: 40 points
Originality: 10 points
Audience Response: 15 points
Dress*: 5 points*
Magical Content / Structure: 10 points

The points for dress will be marked as appropriate to the
type of performance.
