29th New Zealand International Magicians Convention will be held in Auckland New Zealand from the night of December 27th 2008 to January 1st 2009, 1.00am.

Registrations will open during the afternoon/evening of 27 December

Time is running out to register for the competitions

For those already registered please get your competition entry forms into our Secretary Ross Harlick NOW. The convention commiteee are now at the stage of confirming a final schedule for the four days of fun and magic and need to know how many competitors want to enter the competitions so this final schedule can be settled.

We will be awarding Cash prizes for first place only in the following competitions, subject to satisfactory performance as set out in the registration rules.

International Entertainment is very generously sponsoring the winner in the Junior Stage and the Junior Close-up competition. It will be an all expenses paid package to attend Sean Taylors Superday Weekend 2009, in Sydney, Australia. This package will also include payment for a guardian to accompany each of the winners.

Auction
This will take place on the afternoon on last day of the Convention, December 31st. To assist the committee in making this a fun and also a functional event, registrants have to pre register if they intend to bring magic to sell at this auction. The committee reserve the right to limit the number of lots registrants can hand in to meet the time available for this auction. Michael Woolf will be the auctioneer on the day and pre registration needs to be made before November 23rd with Tony Wilson. e-mail tony@twmagic.co.nz

Registrants also need to give an indication of how many lots they plan to enter at this time before the Committee sets an individual registrants limit and before the Convention begins on December 27th (for those travelling to Auckland).

Remember second hand magic can be sold at the trading tables supplied free to all registrants after the auction is finished for a limited time before getting ready for the final night.

We have been able to secure a very attractive room rate of $NZ110 per night (incl GST) for single or double rooms with registrants being able to book direct with the hotel. 40 rooms only are available at this rate and reservations need to be made well before the end of November 2008.
