He went to the hospital on Sat. and went into a coma which he never came out of. He had a heart transplant in July 2002 and other complications had occurred from time to time. The store was turned over to his son Danny and Richard Olsen last fall so the business is in good shape. Best OBIE ------------------------------- Message from Brent Smith Dear Friends, I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news but my friend Herb Morrissey passed away yesterday, August 13. As most of you will know Herb Morrissey was the owner and founder of Morrissey Magic a world renown magic manufacturer. For the past 5 years or so Morrissey Magic and our shop The Vanishing Rabbit Magic Shop, have been friendly competitors. Some of you may not realise however that I personally had a very strong relationship with Herb. Herb has been sick the past 3 years and over these past 3 years we spoke to each other at least once every two weeks. He will be missed, Magically Yours, Brent Smith Owner The Vanishing Rabbit Magic Shop Inc. www.vanishingrabbit.com 2219 Centre St N.W. Calgary, Alberta Canada T2E 2T4 ------------------------------- Message from Maria Ibanez Following news forwarded to me by a club member who received word through Browsers Den -- The magic world is a little bit poorer today as we report on the passing of Herb Morrissey yesterday, August 13. He was founder of Morrissey Magic, a great magic demonstrator, a fountain of knowlege of magic and so much more. My family and I extend our condolences to his family and countless numbers of friends and colleagues who will miss him.
