Magicians Convention, June 2010

Banquet and Variety Show*
The
convention banquet on Sunday 6th of June will be a night to
remember. As well as a top-notch buffet and convention awards
being presented we've lined up some sensational entertainment
including:
Sean
Taylor is a world renowned magician, mentalist and speaker,
and one of Australia's top corporate entertainers. His comedy,
magic and mindreading presentations are a unique and hilarious
combination of wit, intuition, audience interaction, psychology
and pure magic. He claims not to be psychic, but you be the
judge!
Sean is a Gold Star Member of The Inner Magic Circle, the
only performer in Australia to hold the highest degree. He
has over 25 years of performing experience, in more than 15
countries. He knows what you're thinking - he really does!
At
the tender age of eight, Darren Carr started playing with
dolls and talking to himself. Luckily for him, coming
from a show business background, this was not only considered
to be quite normal, but actually encouraged.
Darren
is now recognized throughout the industry as Australia's number
one stand up ventriloquist performing with his cast of crazy
characters at numerous corporate functions, special events,
clubs, and theatres, worldwide.
Over
the past ten years, Darren has also appeared on many of the
premier cruise lines including P&O, Princess, Silver Seas,
Royal Caribbean and Holland America, performing with great
acclaim to audiences from all over the world.
Darren
has been honoured with numerous "ACE" and "MO"
Entertainment Awards as "Speciality Performer of the
Year", "Club Performer of the Year", "Best
Variety Act" and "Best Comedy." He has also
twice accepted invitations to appear as a headliner at international
ventriloquist conventions in the USA.
Darren
is acting as MC at our "International Stars of Magic"
shows, but he's saving his comedy standup ventriloquism act
for the banquet!
When
it comes time for the Hollywood elite to be entertained, they
call TC Tahoe. He has performed for celebrities such as
Pierce Brosnan, Josh Brolan, Jack Nicholson, Denzel Washington,
Paula Abdul, Sean Penn, Johnny Cash, Jane Seymour, Steven
Seagal and Jay Leno.
With his combination of wit, whimsy and wonder, The Academy
of Magical Arts have nominated him five times as Closeup Magician
of the Year, and twice named him Parlour Magician of the Year.
And
your Master of Ceremonies:
No-one is recognised as knowing more about Hollywood and
celebrities than David Hartnell. He's not only spent a
lifetime reporting on Hollywood's trivia, gossip and scandals,
but he counts many celebrities among his personal friends.
David is an award winning broadcaster and columnist and also
the patron of The Variety Artists Club of New Zealand.
Banquet
tickets are $70. To ensure the room is comfortable and
that visibility for the show is good we're capping the banquet
numbers at 220. There are currently approx 175 tickets sold.

Souvenir Booklet:
The
souvenir booklet is now being put together, space is available
for advertisements, club notices and greetings.
B+W, A4 size and most reasonably priced at $40 for a half
page (horizontal), $80 for a full page. High-res JPG artwork
to mick@mickpeckmagic.com please. If you need your ad designed
send through the text and graphics and I'll lay it out for
you free of charge, no problem.

Show Tickets:
"International
Stars of Magic" featuring John Carney, Whit Haydn, Darren
Carr, Paul Romhany and Paul Daniels. Friday 4th of June, 7:30PM,
Saturday 5th of June, 7:30PM. Tickets are onsale now and must
be purchased through iTicket's ticketing system. All convention
registrants have automatically been allocated one ticket to
the Saturday night show.
